  1. Great post! Btw, this Amex Simply cash card (I got a $300 statement credit instead of the $250 statement credit) is probably the best CC I’ve ever applied for. With all of the Amex offers, small biz Saturday, rental car benefits, (Amex premium car insurance), card perks, etc., this card just keeps rewarding me way past the original signup offer.

  2. As a four year card holder, I have to say this card is very mediocore.
    Cons:
    – For all office supplies, if you have Chase Ink, the 5pt/$ there beat 5% cash back to the ground (if know how to use the UR pts).
    – Also, note Simplycash only gives 5% cash back on telecommunications, not internet. So I regret that it took me so long to notice that all my Comcast internet bills earned miserably 1%.

    Pros:
    – No annual fee (so nothing to complain too much, right?)
    – you can pick shipping as the new 5% category. Not bad if you ship a lot. Note if you are old Simplycash, call to switch to the new version that enables you to pick the 5% category. I did it.
    – AMEX offers (just as every AMEX-issued card does)

  3. Did anyone tried to buy stuff at staples.com and get 5% back?

I used my card and see the transaction showing : Category: Merchandise & Supplies – Internet Purchase.

does that mean the 5% is not applying to staples.com online purchase?
