Update:   One or more card offers in this post are no longer available.  Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers.

I wrote earlier this week that the increased 50,000 mile bonus on the Chase Southwest cards would be going away very soon.

Chase has reduced the sign-up bonus on my link for the Chase Southwest Premier card to 25,000 points after you spend $2,000 in the 1st 3 months.

The good news is, the 50,000 point bonus offer for this card is still available on the Chase website.  But I’m not sure how long it will last!

I’ll always let you know of better offers, even if we don’t earn a commission from them!  As always, the Hot Deals tab is updated with the latest offers!

Southwest 50000 Point Cards Still Available For Now But Not From Me

The Sun Hasn’t Set on the Chase Southwest Premier 50,000 Point Offer – for Now!

If you haven’t yet, now is the perfect time to apply for 2 Southwest 50,000 point cards and earn the Southwest Companion Pass in early 2015.

What’s the Deal?

Link:   Chase Southwest Premier (Personal)

Link:   Chase Southwest Premier (Business)

Even though Chase has reduced the sign-up bonus on my link for the Chase Southwest Premier card, there’s still a link for the 50,000 point version available on the Chase website.

And I’ll always tell you about the best deal even when it doesn’t earn me a commission.

The application page says “Limited Time,” but there’s no end date listed.  Please comment if you have links for the Plus versions of the cards!

Good News If You Want the Companion Pass!

This is great for folks who still might be thinking of earning the Southwest Companion Pass in early 2015.  With the Companion Pass, your companion flies with you for almost free on both paid and award tickets.

By applying for 2 cards with a 50,000 point bonus (plus earning 6,000 points from meeting minimum spending requirements), you’ll have almost all the required points for the Southwest Companion Pass.  To get the Companion Pass, you need to earn 110,000 points in a calendar year.

Southwest 50000 Point Cards Still Available For Now But Not From Me

Fly 2-for-1 With the Southwest Companion Pass

If you apply now and time your minimum spending correctly, you can earn the Companion Pass in early 2015 and get nearly 2 years of Big Travel with Small Money!

The Companion Pass expires on December 31 the year after you earned it.  So folks who get the pass in early 2015 would be able to use it until December 31, 2016.

If you don’t get in on these offers now, don’t worry.  Most of the time there’s at least ONE Southwest card available with the increased bonus.  And the 50,000 point cards usually come back every few months.

Bottom Line

You can still get the increased 50,000 point sign-up bonus on the Chase Southwest Premier (personal) card directly through the Chase website.

Although I’m not sure how long it will last.

Signing-up for 2 Southwest cards with a 50,000 point bonus is a great way to earn most of the points for the Southwest Companion Pass.  If you earn the pass in early 2015, it will be valid for almost 2 years.

  1. Cant seem to find a working link for personal plus. Can someone help me?

    Thanks,
    Raj.

  2. Chase has changed their website to 25000 miles as well

  3. Blast it, was so looking forward to getting this. Wonder how long til the next round?

  4. It’s still available via a landing page, though it’s the $99 Premier Personal version

    https://creditcards.chase.com/6000329

  5. I looked at the Chase site and seem like only the $99 Premier version is offering the 50k sign-up bonus. I can’t find the $69 Plus version for 50k sign-up bonus.

  6. does anyone know if the southwest business card is still available for 50,000 sign-up? i cannot find a link.

  7. If you open a Chase Southwest card and then CANCEL it within a week without doing any spending on it, are you DISQUALIFIED from receiving that bonus promotion if you open the card at a later date?

I was approved for the business card, but denied the personal card, so I chose to cancel the business card. But I want to know if I can reapply for it later and still be eligible for the bonus 25k or 50k points?

  8. Just got approved for the 50k Premier. The link for the Flyerthread Business Premier says it expires in Nov, however the landing page is still there (without mentioning 50k) for the business card. I’m nervous about applying for it. @Darius Do we know of any other links for the 50k premier business?

  9. Same question as Brent above – is the link to the business card landing page still valid for the 50k offer, even though the flyerthread business premier link says that the offer expired last month? Thanks!

  10. I have a question about the companion pass. If I transfer 6000 points from Chase Sapphire Preferred to the Southwest Rapid Reward, then I redeemed the points for flights. Now my points in Southwest is down to 1000. Later, I transferred 100400 points to the Southwest Rapid Reward account. Will I still earn the companion pass? or I have to have 110000 on the account to be qualified?

  11. Wonder anyone has the same experience. I opened my South West Rapid in Nov. and I already made 2k purchase on the card. I called Chase to have them change my closing date to 12/28/14(this will be my first statement closing date) and this is the latest that they can change it to. Will the 50k points be posting the end of this year or early next year?

  12. It was indeed a good link for the 50k, just got approved and verified.
