About IHG Rewards
IHG PointBreaks Hotels
Here are some IHG PointBreaks hotels that look interesting to me:
InterContinental Presidente Merida, Mexico
InterContinental Palace Port Ghalib Resort, Egypt
Holiday Inn Dead Sea, Jordan
Crowne Plaza Beijing Lido, China
Holiday Inn Express Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Crowne Plaza Helsinki, Finland
Crowne Plaza Istanbul, Turkey
Candlewood Suites Champaign, Illinois
Holiday Inn Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, Texas
Candlewood Suites Knoxville Airport, Tennessee
Candlewood Suites Tucson, Arizona
Crowne Plaza Albuquerque, New Mexico
These are some of the hotels on the list that look good to me. But check-out the full list of IHG PointBreaks hotels to see if there are other hotels that may work for you.
How Can I Get IHG Rewards Points?
Here are some ways you can get IHG Rewards points:
- Using Points & Cash to buy points for 0.7 cents per point.
- Transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points from your Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Ink Bold, or Chase Ink Plus.
- Applying for the IHG Rewards credit card for 80,000 points. It also includes a free night every year, after your 1st year which makes up for the annual fee.
Usually, transferring points from Chase Ultimate Rewards points to IHG Rewards is not the best choice. That’s because you can get more value for your points by transferring to partners such as Hyatt and United Airlines. But it could be worth it if you find an IHG PointBreaks hotel that meets your needs.
If you’re comfortable with using Points & Cash trick, this is a better value than transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points directly to IHG Rewards.
If You See a Hotel You Like, Book It!
Don’t count on all the hotels on the IHG PointBreaks list being available through February 28, 2015, because hotels may sell out and can be removed from the list at any time.
It doesn’t hurt to make a booking using points, because you can usually cancel them without a penalty (but read the cancellation policy before booking)
The new IHG PointBreaks hotels were just released. These hotels cost only 5,000 points per night and can be booked through February 28, 2015. But don’t wait to book because the best hotels can sell out quickly! If the links are not active, please check back again in a few hours.
You should be able to book now and cancel later without penalty. However, make sure you read the cancellation policy before you book!
