For business travelers and folks who have lots of paid nights at Club Carlson hotels, choosing nights will help you reach Club Carlson elite status faster.

For Silver status, with this promotion you’d only have to stay 8 nights.  With Silver status you get:

  • Free room upgrade
  • Early check-in and late check-out
  • 15% Club Carlson points bonus on paid hotel stays
  • Your unused qualifying nights rollover to the following year (meaning the nights you stayed this year can count towards elite status next year)

You would only need 18 nights for Gold status.  Gold status with Club Carlson gets you:

  • Free room upgrade
  • Early check-in and late check-out
  • 35% Club Carlson points bonus on paid hotel stays
  • Welcome gift (varies: typically bottled water & nuts)
  • Your unused qualifying nights rollover to the following year (meaning the nights you stayed this year can count towards elite status next year)
  • 72 hour room guarantee (meaning you’re guaranteed a room when you book within 72 hours of arrival)

Because a maximum of 20 bonus nights can be earned with this promotion, you could reach Concierge status IF you already have 55 nights.

Concierge status gets you:

  • Free continental breakfast
  • Free room upgrade
  • Early check-in and late check-out
  • 75% Club Carlson points bonus on paid hotel stays

But for most folks, choosing points is the better choice.  That’s because there’s no limit to how many bonus Club Carlson points you can earn.

You usually earn 20 Club Carlson points per $1 spent on Club Carlson hotel stays.  With this promotion, if you choose points, you’ll earn 40 Club Carlson points per $1 spent.

By choosing points, if you stayed at the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Toledo, Ohio, for the night of December 26, 2014, you’d pay ~$89 and earn 3,000 Club Carlson points ($75 base room rate x 20 Club Carlson points x 2 double point promotion).

  1. Anyone with the credit card should be gold already. How does that work on using nights and getting to the next tier? What rolls over? Also as a good member more points are earned.
