3 Fantastic Ways to Use British Airways Miles
British Airways has high fuel surcharges on long-haul flights. However, British Airways points are very useful for shorter flights because you can avoid the high fees.
Here are some ways you can use British Airways points:
1. US East Coast to Western Europe
Using British Airways miles to fly from the eastern US to western Europe is cheaper than many other airlines. And you can avoid the fees if you use a British Airways partner airline.
For example, you can fly from Boston to Dublin, Ireland round-trip in coach on Aer Lingus for just 25,000 British Airways points.
Flying from the Boston to Ireland would cost you 60,000 United Airlines miles, so using British Airways points is a good deal!
2. Short Flights Within the US
You can also save miles and avoid the high fuel surcharges by using British Airways miles on flights within the US.
A round-trip coach flight from Charlotte to New York City will cost just 9,000 British Airways miles.
3. Intra-Asia Flights
Another great way to use British Airways miles is booking short flights within Asia.
For instance, a round-trip flight in coach from Thailand to Hong Kong will only cost 15,000 British Airways miles.
These are just a few of the many great uses for British Airways miles.
You’ll get 50,000 British Airways miles when you spend $2,000 within 3 months. And now the $95 annual fee is waived the 1st year.
That said, each year there is typically an offer for 100,000 British Airways miles when you spend an additional $20,000 within the 1st year. So if you’re a big spender, it may be worth waiting to see if this deal comes back around.
