3X Club Carlson Points
Link: 3X Club Carlson Points
You get 3X Club Carlson points when you stay at participating Club Carlson hotels during the week (Sunday through Thursday) through November 30, 2014. Use promotional code “BIZTIME3” when you make your booking.
You usually earn 20 Club Carlson points per $1 spent on Club Carlson hotel stays. With this promotion, you’ll earn 60 Club Carlson points per $1 spent.
If you pay with your Club Carlson card, you’ll earn an additional 10 points per $1 spent. So you’ll get 70 Club Carlson points per $1 spent.
And when you have the Club Carlson card, you get a 2nd award night free when you redeem for 2 or more nights.
Is the 3X Promotion Worth it?
However, weekday rates are usually more expensive than weekend rates. And promotional rates are usually higher than non-promotional rates.
For business travelers who stay at hotels during the week, and for folks who are visiting family over Thanksgiving, this promotion might be worth it. But you should do what works best for you.
If you stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Toledo, Ohio on November 27, 2014 (Thanksgiving), you’ll pay ~$112 with the 3X promotion offer. You’ll earn 5,940 Club Carlson points (60 Club Carlson points X $99 base room rate).
Or you can pay ~$95 for an advance purchase non-refundable rate. You’ll earn 1,680 Club Carlson points (20 Club Carlson points X ~$84 base room rate).
You’ll pay ~$17 more to book the 3X promotion rate but you’ll earn 4,260 more Club Carlson points, and you can cancel without penalty.
It’s worth paying ~$17 to earn more Club Carlson points and be able to cancel my booking.
If you stay at the Radisson Hotel San Diego-Rancho Bernardo on November 10, 2014, you’ll pay ~$156 with the 3X promotion offer. You’ll earn 8,340 Club Carlson points (60 Club Carlson points X $139 base room rate).
Without the 3X promotion, you can pay an advance purchase, non-refundable rate of ~$138 and earn 2,440 Club Carlson points (20 Club Carlson points X ~$122 base room rate).
Club Carlson Category 1 hotels are 9,000 Club Carlson points per night. Usually those hotels cost ~$80 per night. So ~5,900 Club Carlson points are worth ~$50 toward a hotel stay.
And if you have the Club Carlson card, you get 1 night free when you redeem 2 or more award nights.
So, paying $18 to get an additional 5,900 Club Carlson points is worth it to me.
Book your stay using promotional code “BIZTIME3” to get the 3X Club Carlson points.
With the 3X Club Carlson points offer, you’ll pay more for your stay but you’ll earn 3X more points (or 60 points per $1 spent) so it could be worth it to some folks who are visiting family over Thanksgiving.
And folks who have the Club Carlson card will earn 10 additional Club Carlson points (a total of 70 Club Carlson points) per $1 spent. But check the math to make sure it works for you!
