  1. You can also get it done with the live chat feature on the cadillac.com

  2. I did a Cadillac test-drive for a $100 gift card in May, but never got anything. The dealer promised to verify and call me back, but never did. I even sent a complaint to the HQ, but got a standard “we’re sorry” reply, without even my name on the letter.

  3. I called at exactly at 8 a.m. EST this morning and was only on hold 10 minutes. The Cadillac rep. was in Texas (where it was 6 a.m. their time). It took about 5 min. on the phone to set up the appt. We’ll see if I get the miles. Also, there have been reports elsewhere that the live chat is no longer available for this promo to set up the appt.

  4. Live chat worked well for me to set up the appointment. Let’s hope the miles post no problem. This is just at that threshold of worth it vs pain in the butt, but always good to have more AA miles.

  5. I wasnt aware of livechat but called in around 10:15am pst. I was on hold for almost an hour; thanks to earphones I was still multitasking. lol. Setting up the test drive was easy and the rep explained everything as posted here regarding the offer. Hope everything else works smoothly.

  6. Tried to set up via livechat, but was told my FF number was invalid. Anyone else have this issue? Will try calling later to see if that helps.

  7. I just did the test drive today. It was a snap, except for the 40 min hold time to get through. Once i was connected, signing up for a test drive was easy. I was off the phone by 10:30, did the test drive at 11:30 and was out of there (with a printout as proof) by 11:50. I got a young, brand new salesman (1 week), so no hard sell. A piece of cake. Hope fully the miles will show up in my account. If not I have proof. I wrote down everything.

  9. Took all of 5mins via the chat on cadillac.com. Setup an appt for today evening. Thanks.

  10. Set up test drive yesterday for today. Went to dealer, they had NO appt, no idea of what was going on. We have (& drove) a 2008 CTS. Very dissapointed in the treatment from Cadillac.

  11. Daraius, thanks a million. I’m about to exceed my 10% back limit on AA award redemptions for the year (will have spend more than 100,000 points). This should make up for the lost ones! Got my appointment set up online; will take others’ advice here & ask for a printout.

Also, thanks for your reminder about a year ago (Emily’s grandma) that meaningful experiences are worth more than hoarding the Monopoly-money called “miles.” I’m about to book my 4th “overpriced” (mid-level coach miles) award ticket in a year. Europe on a lie-flat in 2016 is slowly fading out of reach. But that really doesn’t matter. I’ll have managed to go to Hawaii w/ my partner on the dates that worked for us, see a 91-year-old relative I hadn’t seen in 7 years on the exact dates that worked for me, send my partner on a winter workout vacation on the exact dates that worked for him, and take us both on a followup winter workout vacation on the exact dates that work for us by booking “overpriced” flights award flights that burned twice as many miles as they would have if our lives weren’t so tightly constrained. So thank you not only for all the tips to earn the miles, but the reminder that in life, every moment counts!

  12. (Also, my thoughts are with Emily – I hope this reminder in my above comment didn’t make her too sad and she has really good memories!)

  13. As another person said…. we set up the appointment earlier in the week via chat line. I was told someone from dealership would follow up and confirm. Our appt was for 2pm today and no one called us back to confirm. I went back to chat and they tried to direct me to the 800#. I said I wasn’t waiting on hold but the chat line said they showed I had the appointment.

Went to dealership. Nobody has any clue. Spoke to a manager briefly and he apologized and said he would look into it. Took test drive and then asked the sales rep about the miles. He said he didn’t know anything about it but would talk to his manager. We walked out with names but nothing in writing.

Was not impressed with the dealership. My husband was very interested in the CTX but they only had 3 left in black and weren’t getting anymore in the coupe. Sales rep didn’t even seem interested. Not a good way to treat someone in the market for a new car.

  14. I made an appt the day before by calling the sales dept and headed over at 10:30 this morning (it’s less busy then).

The Rep was very friendly but didn’t have the right password for the website (it’s apparently americanairlines, not american14cadillac as was disclosed in a memo). She didn’t even make me do the test drive!

All in all, great experience and wonderful promo! Very impressed by the professionalism at the dealership!

  15. I scheduled an appointment two days ago for McCaddon Cadillac in Boulder CO. I never received a call confirming from the dealership. I showed up at the dealership for my appointment today, and they had no record of my appointment, nor did they have any clue what I was talking about with the American Airlines promotion, nor did they care. Terrible service and a terrible experience with Cadillac. I am disappointed American Airlines has chosen to team up with such an awful company.

  16. Called in, scheduled my appointment for today and did my test drove. Sales guy had no clue about the promotion but we did the test drive and he said he’d take care of the rest as far as what needs to be done to get the points… Guess I have to wait 4-6 weeks to see if it worked.

  17. Add me to list of persons that showed up to dealer that had no knowledge of promo or of scheduled test drive (via chat feature). I completed the drive but dont expect points as they salesperson was unfamiliar with the promo and had no forms to complete showing I had taken drive.

  19. Do I need to pay $221 for this test drive? or this is part of the promotion and free.

  20. I made an appointment via chat, took 3-4 minutes. Went to the dealership and they very busy. And yes, when you make the appointment via chat, they don’t know that you are coming. Anyway, the salesperson had a document that explains how to submit the miles. Basically, he goes to http://www.aa.cadillacpromotions.com and when he logins, he confirms that you took the test drive and that’s it. Since, I saw that my test drive was confirmed, I am sure that I will get my miles in couple weeks.

  21. Update: I had setup an appt on the morning of 10/17 via online chat for that evening. At Sewell Cadillac in Grapevine (DFW) TX. Within an hour, got a call from the dealership confirming the appt. When I reached the dealership, there was a sales person waiting. Received very well, mentioned the AA miles promotion, manager came ovver and introduced himself. Test drove the ATS & CTS. Was told that they would finish the paperwork for the miles.

I expected the miles to be posted maybe 4-5weeks later, so didn’t bother to check. Just logged in and guess what. I see 7.5k posted to my account on the same day I did the test drive. Amazing.
Thanks to Sewell dealership, great service. Anyone in the DFW area, consider tthem for your Cadillac shopping.
