October 12, 2014, is the last day to send money with Amazon Payments. This was a helpful way to meet minimum spending requirements on travel credit cards!

You can still send $1,000 this month and $1,000 the next month, between October 1, 2014 & October 12, 2014.

I wrote about Amazon Payments over 3 years back, and the “angries” were, well, angry that I had shared that secret with you.  They predicted that Amazon Payments would be shut down immediately, but it lasted for well over 3 years!

I know it is disappointing that Amazon Payments will no longer let us send $1,000 without a fee each month. But we should be grateful that it lasted for as long as it did!

Some folks are using this free service to send money to friends, babysitters, etc. using their credit card.  This was especially useful when using a credit card that requires you to spend a few thousand dollars within 3 months to get the sign-up bonus.

You can still send money through October 12, 2014.

This was a very easy way to spend money on a credit card!

Nearly as simple, is loading your AMEX Serve card with a credit card. Read this post for the details and rules.

Bottom Line

I’m sorry to see Amazon Payments being phased out! But you still can make 2 more $1,000 monthly payments. The last day to send money is October 12, 2014.
