Thank you to Million Mile Secrets reader Srini for letting me know folks can still get 50,000 Southwest points by signing-up for the Southwest Premier card!

This is NOT my affiliate link.  I always tell you about the best offer, even if I don’t earn a commission.

Thank you Srini for bringing this to my attention!  I’ve added it to the Hot Deals page!

While the other 3 versions of the Southwest credit cards are currently only offering 25,000 points, you can get the Southwest Premier with 50,000 points after you spend $2,000 within 3 months of being approved for the card.  There is  a $99 annual fee.

Southwest is my favorite airline for domestic travel.  I’ll explain!

50,000 Points Closer to Over a Year of Nearly Free Travel

Link:   Southwest Premier card

Link:   Southwest Companion Pass

When you have a Southwest Companion Pass, your companion will fly nearly free with you, on BOTH paid and award flights.  This has given Emily and me the opportunity to make lots of flights around the country for basically half-price.

Not only is the Southwest Companion Pass useful for visiting family and vacation trips in the US, but it’s helpful when you find an international award flight leaving from another city.

Because you and your companion can fly to another city on an inexpensive Southwest flight and then take your award flight on another airline to Europe, Asia, etc.

That said, Southwest now flies beyond the US to Mexico, Aruba, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.

50000 Points When You Sign Up For Southwest Premier Card

50,000 Southwest Points Can Get You 2 Round-Trip Tickets to Destinations Such as Cancun, Mexico. But the Southwest Companion Pass Is Even More Valuable!

You get the Companion Pass after earning 110,000 Companion Pass qualifying points in a calendar year.  So 50,000 points with the Southwest Premier card will get you nearly halfway there!

To earn your Companion Pass, you may want to apply for an additional Southwest card such as the Southwest Premier Business card.  You can apply now for 25,000 Southwest points or wait to see if the 50,000 point bonus comes back before the end of the year.  That said, I’d wait for the other 50,000 point offers to come back (which they do every 3 to 4 months).

You may qualify for a business credit card and not realize it!

Here are the steps to earning your Southwest Companion Pass.

Bottom Line

You can apply for the Southwest Premier card and get 50,000 Southwest points after meeting the minimum spending requirement.  This isn’t my affiliate link but I always tell you about the best offer.

So thanks again, Srini, for letting our readers know!

  1. Hi Daraius,

I am looking to apply for the Business version of the Plus card. Do you know if the 50K bonus offer card exists? If not, when (approximately) do you think they may offer the 50K bonus again? Thanks for the frequent blog updates.

  2. Hello Daraius,
I’m thinking of going for the companion pass early next year to maximize the time we have it. Do these 50,000 point offers ever come at the beginning of the year? And do you think it’s risky to wait in case they no longer accept these point toward the pass? Thanks!
