Million Mile Secrets reader Dana comments:

I’m still pretty new to miles so wondering if I already have the AMEX Delta personal card and get approved for the AMEX Delta business card, will I still get the sign-up bonus?  Or is it considered the same product?
The sign-up bonus on the AMEX Gold Delta personal, AMEX Gold Delta business, and AMEX Platinum Delta personal cards has increased to 50,000 Delta miles through September 8, 2014.  To get the bonus, spend $1,000 in purchases with your new card within 3 months.
If Dana Already Has the AMEX Gold Delta Personal Card, Can She Still Get The Sign-Up Bonus for the AMEX Gold Delta Business Card?

Dana can apply for the AMEX Gold Delta Business card if she has a business.  Many folks don’t realize that they qualify for a business credit card.  So check out my post on 3 Ways You May Qualify for a Business Card.  But don’t lie!

If Dana signs-up for the AMEX Gold Delta Business card by September 8, 2014, she will get 50,000 Delta miles when she spends $1,000 within 3 months.  This is an increase from the previous 30,000 Delta Airlines miles sign-up bonus.

Here are some of the other perks that come with this card:

  • $50 statement credit after 1st Delta Airlines purchase
  • 1st checked bag free for you and 8 others traveling on the same reservation
  • Priority boarding
  • 20% off in-flight purchases (food, drink, and entertainment)
  • $95 annual fee is waived the 1st year
  • Terms & conditions apply

And the business card won’t impact Dana’s credit as much as a personal card, because your business credit line and spending are NOT reported to the 3 major credit bureaus.

Yes, You Can Get the Bonus If You Already Have the Personal Card

American Express considers the personal and business versions of a card to be 2 different products.

So Dana should be able to get the 50,000 Delta Airlines miles with the AMEX Gold Delta Business card when she completes the minimum spending (as long as she is approved for the card).

Bottom Line

You can now get 50,000 Delta Airlines miles with the AMEX Gold Delta Business card and 2 other Delta Airlines credit cards for a limited time.

If you’ve already received the sign-up bonus for the AMEX Gold Delta personal card, you could be able to get the sign-up bonus for the business card.

Getting the business and personal version of the same card means more Big Travel with Small Money!
