Looking for an excuse to get away this winter?
Frontier’s new sale on flights to Florida and Cancun is giving you a great reason to relax in some warmer weather. This sale is good for flights through March 1, 2015, and you must book by August 9, 2014 (this Saturday)!
But this sale only applies to Frontier’s new routes from Chicago, Denver, Milwaukee, Orlando, St. Louis, Trenton, and Washington, DC.
There are blackout dates from November 21, 2014 to December 1, 2014, and December 19, 2014, to January 4, 2015. So this won’t work for your holiday travel plans.
While there are some fantastic prices, you should keep in mind that Frontier charges lots of fees, which can reduce some of your savings.
How Much Can You Save?
Take a look at the full list of Frontier’s new routes to Florida and Cancun to see if there is a sale fare that might fit with your travel plans.
But how much can you really save? Here’s a closer look:
1. Washington, DC, to Cancun, Mexico, From $98 One-Way
I was able to find a round-trip flight on Frontier from Washington, DC, to Cancun for just $212.
The cheapest price on Kayak for the same travel dates is $376.
2. Chicago to Orlando From $68 One-Way
The is a round-trip fare from Chicago to Orlando for just $136.
While the lowest price I found on Kayak was $305 on Spirit Airlines.
3. Denver to West Palm Beach From $88 One-Way
I found a round-trip flight from Denver to West Palm Beach for $176.
Kayak’s lowest price for the same travel dates was $314.
Frontier Charges Lots of Fees!
You can save $10 on your carry-on and save $5 on your 1st checked bag fee by paying online when you book your flight.
These fees can really add up, especially if you’re traveling in a large group! So keep this in mind before you book!
That said, if you’d normally pay ~$25 to check a bag on another airline, you may save money with Frontier’s sale if you don’t bring a carry-on. Frontier does NOT charge for a personal item that fits under your seat such as a laptop bag or handbag.
Frontier is having a winter sale to celebrate 10 new routes to Florida and Cancun. This sale is for flights through March 1, 2015, and you must book by August 9, 2014 (This Saturday)!
There are some great discounts here, if you can find a sale fare that fits into your schedule. But Frontier’s baggage fees will take away from your savings a bit.
While this is a good sale, I will be sticking with Southwest for my domestic and Caribbean flights. That’s because with the Southwest Companion Pass, Emily flies with me for free!
