  1. Thanks! Just saved the offer. Would have never known about this if it wasn’t for your blog.

  5. Dang, why don’t I ever get these? Instead it’s junk like $5 off $25 at or something worthless like it. 🙁

  6. Just about any Amex offer is targeted. That is not such a surprise. I have been a Costco member for over 20 years (since before it was even called Costco) and got the offer on 4 of 6 Amex cards. The 2 cards I did NOT get it on were our 2 Costco cards. I guess they “missed their target.” 🙂 IMO there’s no way anyone will see this on a COSTCO Amex.

  7. Also works as 45% off membership fee
According to TERMS: …”$25 can include Costco membership purchase.”

  8. OK, I registered for this, but I thought we had to use a debit card with a PIN at Costco.

  9. Thanks for the heads up. So happy 🙂 However I have several cards and only got the offer on one 🙁

  10. Karen,
Four ways to pay at Costco
    Costco Amex card
    ANY Amex card.
Mostly the only place I use my Starwood Amex is Costco.

Didn’t get this one – although we were able to use the Hilton $50 statement credit after a $250 stay (offered, of course through our Hilton AmEx)! We applied that one today- everyone, check your cards for that offer if you plan on staying at a Hilton property before 9/2. Thank you so much for all of the updates, MMS, we are BIG fans of you guys!

  13. I was targeted and saved this offer to my card yesterday. I went to Costco and bought $28 of stuff (shrimp and avocados ha). Usually you get an email alert right after you use your card at the merchant that your enrolled card was used for the offer thanking you (I use these AMEX targeted offers all the time) but I didn’t get one yesterday and it’s not showing redeemed in my account either! Now I’m worried that it didn’t go through and I’ll lose out on this deal. Grrr.

Their T&C states this: If you redeem this offer, your American Express Card Member status may be shared with Costco. Offer valid in store only at all US Costco Warehouse locations including Puerto Rico. Offer excludes gas, travel and online purchases. Costco membership required for purchases in-store at Costco, except for pharmacy transactions. $25 can include Costco membership purchase. Offer is non-transferable. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express online account. Enrollment is limited. If you order an item during the offer period but it is not sent to you until after 8/15/14, it may not count towards determining whether your purchase qualifies for the offer. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 8/15/14, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit.

  14. I did not see the targeted offer in my box (did have for Amazon, though). I asked if I could receive the offer and they said I would have to provide a promo code or PID (or POID?) number. Does anyone have that? I was interested in getting a Costco membership and that would be a great incentive.

  15. Do you have to have a Costco membership to redeem this deal? Could I use a friend’s?

  16. Update: I saw a credit on my statement today! This is strange it happened this way because I ALWAYS get 2 emails form AMEX: first email is that my card is enrolled and then when I do use it, they write a second email confirming/thanking me. No complaints here though!

@Andrea: No code in my offer. I copied and pasted what it says above in their T&C.
@Mike: I think you can but sometimes they check to see that the membership card matches the name on the credit card.

  18. Hi JC,

I bought stuff at Costco today and was surprised not seeing the usual confirmation email as you said, such confirmation email always came right after the amount was spent.

Last Dec I did a $25/$75 Amazon offer and never received the confirmation email. It took 3 months for the statement credit to finally show up.

Glad to see the statement credit is posted without the long wait. Thank you for posting!

  19. I got the offer but didn’t get the email like I usually do. Hopefully will get the credit in a few days without having to hassle them (espcially since they replaced Secure Message with Live Chat.)

  20. Can you buy a $25 Costco gift card on and get it credited? Anybody been able to do this yet? If not can you just buy a $25 gift card instore?
