If you use Lufthansa miles to fly United Airlines within the US you won’t pay fuel surcharges. There are some good deals such as:
- 1 round-trip coach flight to Hawaii from the US mainland on United Airlines is 40,000 Lufthansa miles
- 1-way in coach within the US (including Alaska but excluding Hawaii and the Virgin Islands) on United Airlines is 12,000 Lufthansa miles
Is the Lufthansa Barclaycard Card Right For You?
This is a great sign-up bonus and there are lots of ways to use Lufthansa miles. So this card would be a good option for folks who have been collecting miles & points for a while and have run out of other cards to get.
But if you are new to miles points you may want to consider applying for the Barclaycard Arrival Plus card which offers a lot of flexibility, or the Barclaycard US Airways card which won’t be available for much longer. Or any of the other cards on the Hot Deals tab.
That’s because Barclaycard doesn’t let folks to sign-up for more than 1 to 2 of their cards per year. But do what works best for your spending habits and goals!
