You do NOT pay a telephone booking fee to book flights using Lufthansa miles.  This is great because you have to call to book flights on some airline partners, like United Airlines.

Bottom Line

You can book most award seats using Lufthansa miles online.  But you have to call Lufthansa to book awards seats on partner airlines, like United Airlines.

If you need extra Lufthansa miles, you can get 50,000 Lufthansa miles from the Lufthansa card, if you apply by June 30, 2014.
