Blog Giveaway Four 50 Uber Gift Cards

Get Around Town For Free With an Uber Gift Card!

Uber is a new alternative to cabs.  You just download the Uber app onto your smart phone and then request a driver.  A map comes up and you watch the driver’s progress towards your location.

You will be picked up in a new, clean, black car.  It’s much different from the dirty and dilapidated yellow taxis you see in most cities.  And the price is cheaper than a cab in some Uber locations.  In other places, it cost 20% to 50% more than a cab.

Uber stores your credit card information when you sign-up, so that they can automatically charge your card when you complete your ride.

Uber is available in 36 countries and is a great way to get around a new town.

And if you use my Uber link, you get a $30 credit towards your 1st ride and I get a $30 credit as well!

Have you tried Uber?

  1. I found out about Uber from many friends and colleagues at work, but never needed to use it. Then one of our cars was totaled and I found Uber promotional credits from one of the frequent flyer travel blogs. My girlfriend and I signed up for Uber and used an Uber groupon and with all the credits we were able to go to work and get back for FREE until the insurance company paid us. Uber really made things a lot easier during that time period. I’ve always found Uber to be very professional here in LA and really enjoy taking rides with the company.

  2. I’ve used Uber in both Chicago and Denver and I’ve had great experiences with both.

  3. I LOVE Uber! Before I used to worry about staying out too late and how to get home, but now I can stay focused on partying! 😉

  4. Haven’t tried it yet. Hopefully this WIN will help me get there…

  5. Uber was awesome on my recent trip to Dallas. They were quick and ontime everytime and the experience is excellent. Instead of renting a car for 3 weeks while visiting multiple friends which would have been $1000 I just spent $200 going between friends since when I stay with my friends I usually go with them in their car.

  6. I’ve actually never used Uber, although I know all about it. I simply haven’t had the chance. Would love to win to try it out!

  7. Love Uber. Way better from airport transfers than a taxi.

  8. Uber is the best designated driver available!

  9. I’ve only used Uber a few times since it just came to Austin — now I’m hooked and will never take a cab again!

  10. Haven’t tried Uber yet but may just have to try it out with the $30 credit (and possibly this $200 gift card)!

  11. I would like to try it when I visit other city without renting a car

  12. Just signed up for Uber through your link. Looking forward to trying it instead of a cab from LGA to Times Square over July 4th weekend. Thanks for promo code!

  13. Haven’t tried it yet. No opportunity lately.

  14. I’ve never even been in a cab

  15. Can’t wait to try in NYC

  16. I first discovered Uber when I met Travis at a startup event in Boston. He gave me a $20 credit for my first ride but I never used it (I ended up giving it to a friend). However I ended up taking my first ride when I went to the airport at 4am. I have also gotten my friends on it and b/c of Uber’s expansion, we’ve been able to get rides for cheaper than public transit!

  17. Uber is great, use it all the time.

  18. I haven’t used it yet….I live in a small town and we only have one cab….going to the big city soon though and would love to give it a try.

  19. I haven’t tried Uber yet… I just don’t take cabs that often, so I’ve never taken the time to DL the app, but whenever I do need to catch one, I always think, “I should have used Uber!”

  20. I use uber whenever Lyft doesn’t have any drivers available

  21. I love that you dont have to look for cabs after late night events

  22. While planning a trip to England I came across Uber on a London travel blog. There was a promo code for $25. I ended up downloading the Uber app on my phone and using the promo credit for a fancy night on the town. I doubt it was cheaper than London’s public transit but it was more convenient and a luxurious getaway from the normal routine of packed buses and hostels. I haven’t tried Uber in the states yet but several of my friends have enjoyed their service and I am definitely interested in another ride!

  23. My wife and I have been using Uber for a while now and love them both. We live close to LAX, so when we used to get a taxi going to the airport: it was always late. Leaving the airport to home, whenever we told the taxi where we lived, about 50% of the time they’d go crazy mumbling to themselves and cussing, because we weren’t “big ticket” customers.

With Uber, none of that. We get a car in less than 10 minutes, and going home, rather than curse words, we get a bottle of water. We’re planning to use Uber to watch the US team beat Portugal tomorrow too at one of our favorite bars!

  24. Best thing about Uber is how pleasant the drivers are

  25. First time I used Uber was at JFK when I saw how long the taxi line was. Car arrived in under 5 minutes and whisked us away (maybe “whisk” isn’t the right word for the traffic from JFK to Manhattan). We laughed and pointed as we drove by that taxi line (not really, but I was thinking it)!

  26. Never used as not in my small town. But will try on a Boston trip in 6 weeks.

  27. Haven’t tried them yet buy have been meaning to sign up

  28. Uber just started in Orlando FL and it was FREE for the first 2 weeks, (free just ended 6/20) loved the service and plan on using it a bunch. WAYYYY cheaper than a taxi!

  29. I was introduced to Uber on a bachelor party in Scottsdale. We used it the entire trip. I was impressed with the overall ease of use. I prefer it to regular cabs because entire transaction is taken care of obline. No cash needed.

  30. Nothing like being hungover from a wedding in Oakland, and missing my BART ride to SFO. Uber to the rescue. I just made my flight and I’ve been a convert ever since. Plus, who doesn’t love a free water bottle to help you hydrate?

  31. tried out Uber a month ago. Was really great experience. Would try again.

  32. Uber is great for getting home after a night out on the town

  33. would like to try uber to see how it compares to regular taxis

  34. I love Uber. Clean cars, fabulous drivers. Much nicer and more convenient than the regular taxis. The first time we used the service was in San Francisco. Friends used it to send us home after a lovely dinner out. We were hooked and used it often after that..

  35. I had a fantastic experience with Uber earlier this year in San Diego. I absolutely loved that I could see my Uber cab right on my cell phone on the map incl. my own location. The driver contacted me via text, so it was no problem to find each other. I would totally use an Uber cab again.

  36. Uber is fantastic! Cheaper, faster, and more fun than a normal cab

  37. I love Uber, but I always seem to have trouble opening the app. It either loads really slowly, or freezes up.

  38. I love the idea, but haven’t used Uber yet since they don’t serve my locale.

  39. I love Uber. I am using Uber for commuting in Washington DC. When I get off at my subway (metro) station and there is no bus in 5 minutes I simply request a Uber X. Very reliable and affordable. In fact, Uber X currently is cheaper than cab in Washington DC.

  40. As a Sales Director, I travel on business quite frequently and will often jump into a taxi when I land in the destination city. At this time, I really need to make a few calls (which I wasnt able to do in flight) and not think about the ride ,the directions, whether or not the driver will take my Corporate AMEX, the driver being on his phone arguing with someone, etc. I have never used Uber but recently read an article about it when flying PHL -> SFO. What a pivotal idea. If I win the gift card, I’d give it a try next week. I’m in Philadelphia and often fly to SFO, ATL, ORD, DFW. Looking forward to trying it!

  41. I have not had the opportunity to try it yet but I can’t wait to give it a shot….especially with $30 in free credit available!

  42. Russ Rosier

I was standing at a Muni Bus Stop in San Francisco and overheard a woman complaining no taxis were available in our area because they were all downtown at the Mascone Covention Center.

I launched Uber on my iPhone which promptly displayed the availability of over a half-dozen vehicles in our vicinity; and then helped the gal download the app to her phone, register a credit card, and summon a driver. Five minutes later she was all smiles as she stepped into the suddenly awaiting limo.

One good deed deserves another … and, therefore, I’d gladly accept a $50 Uber Gift card for you/Uber.

  43. I’ve never used this service, but I’d like to try it next time I travel from the airport.

  44. Leonard Chan

Haven’t used the service yet since the prices have been high when I’ve needed it in NYC (they change prices based on demand). Have wanted to get a chance though and the $50 gift card would be the perfect excuse.

  45. I used Uber to get my wife to the airport when I had a flat tire!
