You can earn a quick 750 Southwest points by verifying your Southwest account (if you receive an email asking you to verify your account) by May 23, 2014!

Southwest and AirTran are completing their merger November 2, 2014.  Verifying your account will help them combine your accounts.

Verifying Your Account Only Takes a Few Seconds!

Southwest points are worth ~1.42 cents per point.  So 750 Southwest points are worth ~$11 (750 Southwest Points x 1.42 cents per point) in Southwest travel.  I don’t mind making ~$11  for a few seconds worth of work!

According to the fine print at the bottom of the email, the points you earn do NOT count towards the Companion Pass.

How to Get the Points

Step 1 – Check Your Email

Check your inbox for an email from “aplusrewards@go.airtran.com” with the link to verify your account.

  1. Couldn’t have done this without you, Daraius! THANKS A MILLION!

  2. Captain Hooks

I wonder if the converted points count toward companion pass.

Also wonder if I will get a bonus when they convert the airtran card to a southwest card.

  4. Thanks for pointing this one out – I had thrown it away and went to the garbage to search for it and found it :D

  5. For those who don’t have an airtran account, creating an account will NOT trigger an e-mail to be sent.

  6. Thanks MMS I wouldn’t have looked at that email if not for your post!

  7. William, why not?

  8. Yes thanks for the post. Had to search in my spam!

  9. I have an AirTran account, but not a RapidRewards account and got the following email….

If you have not already joined Rapid Rewards, you can take advantage of an exclusive, limited time promotion to earn up to 2,500 Rapid Rewards Points**

…earn 2,000 points just for enrolling. Then opt in to receive Rapid Rewards e-mails for an extra 250 points each.

  10. Never got the email. Now what?

  11. I did this over a week ago and the points have not shown up. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to post? Or whether I should be having a little chat with the airline…

I had not gotten around to doing it until today. I went to search for the e-mail and found my e-mail program had eaten it. I contacted customer support and was told that since the e-mail was computer generated they could not help me by send a new one, nor could they send me a link. She did say it MAY come up again. I am disappointed with this as I have had both accounts for years, and quiet a few points in both. Let’s hope they send out another e-mail.
