  1. Your website has helped me immensely. It has allowed my family to visit our relatives in other parts of the country without breaking our budget. The experiences for our children are priceless. Thank you!

  2. Your blog has helped me visit Istanbul and Latin America already this year. Next stop Peru.

  3. gotten to see some amazing sights at an affordable price

  4. Amazing trips especially our Thailand honeymoon!

  5. Collecting miles & points has allowed me to travel while in college!

  6. Nowadays I’m travelling much more than in the past. For instance, next week, my wife, mother-in-law and me will travel just with miles!

  7. I found this website just over a year ago now. 25 years ago i got a cash back card. Five years ago, I thought I was so smart in getting two credit cards that got me points. I planned to use this to take a trip every 5 to 10 years. I knew I was missing something, but had no idea that people could get enough points to do this on a regular basis.
Since I found the site, my wife and I have taken a free 9 day trip to Hawaii, have a 15 day trip to Europe scheduled for this summer, and another 14 day trip to Hawaii for the end of this year, taking friends with us. Plans are now in play for the next two years out, all on points and miles. This has completely changed the way we think about everything! Thanks for your blog!!!

  8. Collecting points and miles made me realize that I can see the world on a budget. As a 20 something year old, I have been able to visit countries that I have only read in books and experience the culture that I never imagine I could be able to do on my salary/budget. I also just need to be sure to apply for the right credit cards and pay my credit card bills on time. Having great credit helps too! 🙂

  9. Last year I stayed over 20 nights in luxury hotels and didn’t have to pay a dime out of pocket. Was also able to fly my parents down to visit using points.

  10. I like these giveaways…Sadly I have not won any…Keeping fingers crossed

  11. Have been able to travel now at very minimal cost thanks to points & miles.

  12. I travel more frequent than the past, but spending less money.

  13. I’ve realized I can see the world on a budget and stay at some amazing places. Im so excited to plan my trip!

  14. I’m in Patagonia right now exploring. Never would have made it down here in Business Class without miles!

  15. I’ve always signed up for loyalty programs but since I don’t travel much, the rewards have been few. But now that I’ve discovered credit card bonuses it’s opened a whole new world! 🙂

  16. Leonard Chan

Collecting miles and points allowed me to fly my family business class to the Philippines to see my parents! Without it, I’m not sure my wife would have agreed to make the 20+ hour trip with a 4 year old and 2 year old… It’s also allowed me to get my father and mother in law to Australia and Taiwan on business class! International travel for the family has picked up tremendously.

  17. I travel much more. I wish I had more vacation.

  18. This newfound hobby of collecting miles and points has definitely brought my husband and I closer together, thank you so much MMS blog that opens our eyes to a bigger world! We can now Big Travel with Small Money!

  19. My new points hobby has allowed my husband and I to travel and stay with a greater degree of comfort than ever before. We really appreciate this (particularly as we are getting older) — especially the amenities in airport lounges and the hotel upgrades collecting points has afforded us. And thank you for all your help and instruction in making this possible.

  20. Collecting miles and points has opened the doors to so many wonderful experiences like first class cabins to amazing destinations, like the Maldives, that we might otherwise never have experienced!

  21. For past 2 years reading this blog and some others as well, my family is traveling more often. We are spoiled now with business/first class flights and Hyatt/Hilton lounges. Thank you.

  22. After riding in economy seats for our entire working lives, my wife & I took our first post-retirement trip to Europe in business class using knowledge gained from following this blog. What a treat! My wife thinks I’m a genius.

  23. Wow. Starting to collect points & miles has not only allowed me to upgrade flights, and stay in amazing hotels for free, but has had the unforeseen effect of enabling me to discover some amazing destinations which I might otherwise never have known about…and that might be the best part!

  24. Since I’ve got this hobby, if I am not traveling outside of USA, I am at CVS (gone now), at Walmart or somewhere in between. My wife calls it a part time job or our small family business. 🙂

  25. Michael Macken

It changed my life in allowin travel to distant places with my children. As a child myself I never traveled to distant places with my parents. I thought it was cool traveling to the adjoining states in New England.

  26. Without a doubt, becoming a loyal Hilton client has changed life for the better. From the first time I received a sign on bonus for joining Hilton Honors to all the stays that have been enjoyable and exactly what I needed. The amenities extended, the staff I encounter, the commodity of the rooms have all been more than enough to be grateful to be a HH member and a Hilton property loyalist.

  27. Collecting miles and points gave me the ability to see the world.

  28. My wife and I use to take 1-2 vacations per year. Thanks in part to your blog, we now take 4-5 vacations per year for the same price!

  29. I quit my job to spend a year traveling in 2013. At the end of the year I started collecting miles and points aggressively, and by living cheaply when at home and working hard at collecting miles/points, I haven’t had to take job to fund my travel habit. Early semi-retirement with lots of travel is a fabulous change to my life!

  30. I enjoy being able to use miles/points to fly comfortably in business/first on long haul flights I wouldn’t be willing to pay cash for.

  31. MisterChristian

The aspirational trips that I’ve been on have really been great. Otherwise, Cancun would be about it.

  32. Your blog and collecting points has been amazing! I’ve been able to take my girlfriend on vacations I wouldn’t otherwise have been able to afford and enjoy special moments together! Thank you!

  33. I never thought in a million years that I could ever fly business let alone first. Reading your blog has given me the courage to pursue it through collectingmiles thank you so much. You knocked quite a few things off my bucket list: places to travel to and flying business and first class

  34. Collecting points and miles is allowing me to take each one of my children on a special trip of their choice anywhere in the world. It also provides a huge bonus to our family vacation for the six of us each year. So far, I have taken one daughter to Germany/Austria/Switzerland and the family has traveled to Costa Rica, Alaska, Oregon and the Carribean. My wife has joined me on trips to China, Canada, Singapore and Norway….all on free miles.

  35. D & E! Your many posts have perfected me to use my miles wisely. I just was able to book my mom and I to Maui. She is 74 and still wants to travel. Maui is her fav! I love making that happen with points and miles.

  36. Utilizing miles has allowed me to experience travel adventures I never thought possible.

  37. Miles have allowed my family to take numerous first class trips without the expense.

  38. Tsai Lun Huang

Besides constantly looking for ways to gain points/miles and to fit 10+ credit cards in my wallet, life is more hopeful and exciting each day, knowing that the the dreams I dreamt are merely a few stressful phone calls away to customer service.

  39. I’ve just gotten started with miles but your blog has helped me build up my balances quickly. My husband and I hope to save up enough miles for a trip to Thailand!

  40. Karen Lorenz

I can travel at will now!!! And I can treat my friends to travel. As a public librarian I have plenty of leave and imagination. Now with points and miles I have the ability to travel to places I’ve only dreamed of before.

  41. I started collecting miles/points in 2009 and then really got into it about 2 years ago. Every year i fly roundtrip from India to US and also roundtrip from India to Europe. It’s now been a few years that i haven’t actually paid for a ticket, other than taxes, fees. Often i fly business and i’ve even helped friends to join me for special events who wouldn’t have been able to make it otherwise. It’s a wonderful hobby.

  42. Collecting points and miles has opened my eyes to how easily attainable seeing the world can truly be! I’m taking my first trip on points in the next two weeks, to a Hilton no less! I can’t tell you how wonderful this site has been for making me re-think how I spend money on everyday things….to earn points and see more of the world.

  43. Started points & miles conservatively since 2002 using one card only, AMEX, which funded our trips to Europe and Asia. Your blog is like the Rick Steves travel guide version, no fluff just stuff, except for points & miles. Thank you D and E!

  44. I found it hard to justify the expense of luxury vacations prior to getting into this hobby a few years ago – so I did not do them because I am too thrifty/cheap. My vacations are still extremely modest compared to many in this hobby but since I have taken up this hobby I taken or sent up to 5 family members on 1st class travel and accommodations to: Jamaica, Key West, Las Vegas (x4), NYC (x2), New Orleans, Costa Rica, Curacao, England & Germany, Seattle, San Diego and Hawaii in the last few years. Jamaica and Curacao both staying at an all inclusive Hilton property for the family. Without out this hobby/obsession none of these trips would of ever happened.

  45. Collecting points and miles has allowed me to take my family to Europe numerous times and open my son’s eyes to life outside the US.

  46. The ability to have luxury travel at a young age. All of my friends are jealous.

  47. I used AA miles for a OneWorld Explorer around-the-world ticket that changed the way I see the world (there’s a whole lot more than just the USA!), and because of those travels I pay much more attention to what’s going on in the rest of the world now than before.

  48. Excited to be looking for ways to use the miles I’ve collected like my trip to Santa Barbara this coming fall!

  49. By collecting points and miles, I have been able to visit places in the world I never would have been able to afford by just paying cash!

  50. Collecting miles and points has let me see the world for little money AND stay in gorgeous hotels. Staying on the Executive floor has spoiled me for life!

  64. Earning miles and points has rocketed me into so many traveling possibilities, I wouldn’t have had before…its awesome

  65. When I first went into business 20 years ago, a friend told me he was flying to Hawaii for free, and staying 6 nights for free at the Marriott. I though ‘Fly for Free and Stay for Free’? What’s so bad about that.

I’ve been flying4free and staying4free for many years. Keep in mind this was all butt in seat (BIS). Back in the day, the best sign up bonus was for the phone company, and that was 5000 miles. .

  66. I have been on 3 wonderful trips to Europe since collecting miles and points. Traveling very luxuriously!
We are retired and never dreamed we would be traveling as much and as well before finding this passion /hobby. You have helped so much with your wonderful insight and knowledge you share. Thank you for helping these 2 older people follow their dreams.

  70. I started collecting miles in 2012. The signup bonus from two cards provided enough miles for three roundtrip airline tickets to the Caribbean last fall to visit family. This year, we’ll be using hotel points in a couple weeks during a trip to the West Coast. Without miles and points, these vacations would not have been an option.

  71. Miles & points has allowed me to to travel even while paying student loans and starting a family. Thank you Emily & Darius.

  76. Collecting miles and points has given us the world!!

  77. After we collect miles and points, my family can travel to places we really like to visit every year!

  78. Collecting miles has allowed me to travel more with my wife making our 30 year anniversary last and last. Since last March 5 trips and counting using Southwest miles and companion passes, Marriott reward nights and Thank You rewards rental cars. Your advise and using cards to complete a home remodel gave us a freedom we had never experienced. Thank You for a rekindled relationship from a fifty something couple!
