Emily Jablon:  Daraius and I went to Europe in September to celebrate our 2nd anniversary for ~2 weeks.  It was my first time in Italy so I was very excited!  In Italy, we visited Varenna on Lake Como, Milan, Venice, and Rome.

Since we were in Europe, we visited a friend in Strasbourg, France and also spent a night in Zurich.  We started our trip with a one day layover in Chicago to see friends!

Well, happy late anniversary! It was fun reading up on what you did while visiting Italy (tho’ I haven’t had a chance to finish all of the reading!). My 23 year old daughter has a genetic syndrome called 22Q11.2 DS. Unfortunately, one of the physical impacts it often has is to leave the person with a slightly Asian appearance. Well. my daughter is VERY proud of her Italian heritage! She is DYING to go to Italy at some point in her life, though since she is developmentally disabled and on SSI, she probably will mot have that opportunity(unless she someday meets a good guy who has a decent job so that she can be a stay at home mom…she loves kids!). Anyway, she periodically speaks about vacationing in Italy. So I am really writing this comment for her! She told me that her half brother visited Venice on his honeymoon. She saw his photos, and consequently, fell in love with Venice and its waterways! So, I would have to say that Venice is her ultimate dream….although I am sure if she had an opportunity to go anywhere in Italy, she would be in heaven! So keep your fingers crossed that one day she will realize her dream! And winning one of your three prize packages might just be her apple!

  7. Florence.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to add something to my post….because my daughter has an Asian-ish appearance, she gets aggravated that people oftentimes do not realize that she is Italian! It’s funny….when she was about 14 years old she visited a website that tells which famous actors/actresses you look like if you upload a photo of yourself. Well, she followed the directions expecting to see someone who had some type of an Italian heritage…well, low and behold, after she hit the button…numerous photos did appear….but they were all ASIAN!!!! Boy, what a let down that was!!!

  9. Spent several weeks of my honeymoon (youth hostel & motor-scouter) 52 years ago in Florence and Rome. Going back this fall with miles & points!! You and Emily have made me realize I have to experience Venice also! Thanks for the wonderful photos and information. I can’t wait.

  11. I would visit Rome again!

  12. I’d definitely go back to Milan

  13. Picking only one European city is pretty difficult considering I have only been to Ireland, I have a lot more European places still on my bucket list. However, if I have to choose only one I would pick Zurich, Switzerland.

  14. Venice!

  21. I would say Rome because it would be my first time to Italy and it seems like it would be a good place to start 🙂

  22. Venice…St. Mark’s Square at night. Listen to the dueling string quartets while sipping hot chocolate!

  23. Florence. I can stare at the David statue (in a good way) an imagine how talented Leonardo was in taking a rejected piece of marble and make it into a masterpiece.

  24. I know I would love to visit Rome! So much history!

  25. Siracusa!

  26. Never been to Italy but I would love to visit Venice
