  1. Congrats Bethany & @Devonpack

  2. Congrats, Bethany and @Devonpack!

Daraius, I believe to enter you had to to exactly this:

    1. Leave a Comment

Please leave ONE comment telling me which city you’d LUV Southwest to fly to. I’ll pick 1 commenter who wins a 10,000 Southwest points after the drawing closes at 10:00 pm Central Time on Saturday, January 25, 2014 (today).”

Question: How’s Bethany’s comment meeting the criteria to enter? I understand this is your blog, your sweepstakes, your rules, etc. However, if you make the rules to enter, maybe you should stick by those rules when picking a winner.

  3. Cash!!!Cash!!!Cash!!!

  4. I agree with DS. Shows that you don’t even have to answer the real question to actually win.

  5. Really appreciate the tips about buying gift cards to take advantage of the 5% credit card bonuses. Keep up the good work.

  6. I agree with DS. Seems that a lot of people really aren’t very detailed and don’t take the time to read and follow rules. Thanks for being so generous. I work with many people trying to teach them this game. It takes tons of patience at times! Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this!

  7. I have to agree as well – She didn’t follow the rules but she won..

  8. Haha, the only way WN is flying anyone to Knoxville, TN is if they land at the wrong airport! Maybe they’ll try for BNA and miss.

  9. Enjoy learning about the different plans and ways to save. Gift cards are always great to get as presents!

  10. So. . . one winner names a city Southwest doesn’t fly to and the other winner doesn’t even name a city. Why have a contest with rules if the rules don’t even matter?

  11. hi all! I haven’t gotten an email yet so it may not be me (though it’s a relatively uncommon name) but you are all totally right… I didn’t answer the exact question in my answer.

Apologies to anyone annoyed or aggrevated as a result, but Darius also said he makes all decisions in these giveaways and asked us not to make his life harder since he’s the one faciliating the freebies! (Can be perceived as self-serving I know but throwing it out there)

  12. Bethany: congrats on your win and I hope the SW points can help you fly to someplace you desire. Some of us put thought and effort into answering the question and it’s a bit disappointing to find out that not only did we lose, but the winner didn’t even answer the question. Before I entered the contest, I first read the entry rules. I then looked up the Southwest flight map to choose my city. I wanted to choose a city that would have some pizazz. I currently live in Michigan where we are breaking cold and snow records. I have also been training for a marathon – running through tons of snow in sub-zero weather. I thought it would be exciting to choose a warm weather city with an upcoming marathon. I also thought this might catch Darius’ attention as he was choosing winners. I then researched southern cities that Southwest flies to that also has an upcoming marathon. I finally chose Tuscon. Also, the 10,000 points would put me over the companion pass threshold and would allow my training partner to fly too! I wrote a short lively paragraph to answer the contest question. I checked back each day, then find that one winner didn’t even answer the question and the other winner chose a city SW doesn’t fly to. I think its fine if Darius chooses winners randomly; perhaps he could mention that in the contest rules.
