The 30,000 point offer has appeared for ~1 month every year for the last 3 years, though there is no guarantee that it will come back again next year.

30,000 points is the most that American Express has ever offered for the Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) card.  That said, the standard offer is for 25,000 points after spending $5,000 within 6 months, so you’re only getting an extra 5,000 points.

Starwood Credit Card 30,000 Points

You earn 30,000 Starwood hotel points - 10,000 after your first purchase, and 20,000 points after spending $5,000 within 6 months.  The offer ENDS on September 3, 2013.  American Express says that you have to be APPROVED before September 3, 2013 to be eligible for the offer.

This offer is valid on the Starwood personal card and the Starwood business card.

Here’s a post on how to fill out the application for an American Express business credit card.

You don’t need to be incorporated (i.e have a corporation) to apply for a business credit card.  You can also apply for a business credit card as a sole proprietor and even as a start-up business with little to no revenue.

But don’t lie on the application form if you don’t have a business!

You earn 1 Starwood point per $1 you spend everywhere and 2 Starwood points per $1 at Starwood hotels.

Spending $5,000 within 6 months is ~$833 each month, and I suspect that most of us spend more than $833 each month.  You can charge almost everything to a credit card, so see the 40+ ways to complete your minimum spending requirements.

You can usually get 2 cents per Starwood point if you redeem for hotels using the cash & points option, so 30,000 points is worth at least $600 in hotels if not more!

You can also redeem Starwood points for gift cards, so 28,000 points will get you $300 in Amazon (or other) gift cards.  30,000 points will also get you $345 to $410 in airfare with NO blackout dates (which will also earn miles).  That said, these aren’t as lucrative as the other redemption options, but you should use your points in the best way for YOU.

The $65 annual fee is waived for the first year on both the business and personal cards.  But the card charges 2.7% in foreign transaction fees, so I wouldn’t use it outside the US.  See this post for cards which do not charge foreign transaction fees.

I also wish the card offered some benefit for keeping it after the first year.  I’d prefer a free night at a Starwood hotel just like the Chase hotel cards offer.

Instead, the Starwood card gets you 2 stays or 5 nights towards elite status if you have the Starwood card.  You can get 4 stays or 5 nights credit towards elite status if you have BOTH the business and personal cards.

So you’ll need only 6 stays or 15 nights to get Starwood Gold status if you have both the personal and business card.  Gold status gets you 4:00 pm late check-out, and free internet (you can choose between a drink, internet and extra points, but the free internet is the most valuable to me).  You also get Starwood Gold status if you spend more than $30,000 within 1 calendar year on the card.

This means that you need only 21 stays or 40 nights to get to Platinum status if you have both the business and personal card.  Platinum status gets you 4:00 pm late check-out, upgrades to rooms including standard suites, free internet

Be Careful When Applying

Some readers have reported NOT getting the full bonus with the AMEX Starwood card.

So make sure that you verify that the offer is for 30,000 points when you sign-up for the card.

And don’t forget to take screenshots of the offer before applying.

The terms say that you can’t get the Starwood card again unless it has been 12 months since you have cancelled the card.

Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months.

For example, you should not have had the Starwood personal card for 12 months before reapplying to get the personal card again.  However, you could have the business card open in the past 12 months because the business and personal card are considered separate products.

The terms also say:

If you are identified as a current American Express® Cardmember, you may not be eligible for this welcome bonus offer.

I don’t like how vaguely this is worded and suggests that AMEX could deny the bonus – if they want to – to folks who currently have an American Express card.

I’ll write a detailed series on how to use Starwood hotel points, but here are few reasons why I like Starwood hotel points.

1.   Free Hotel Nights

Starwood Preferred Guest hotels include AloftElementFour PointsLe MeredienSheratonSt RegisThe Luxury CollectionWestin and W brand hotels.  You could stay at any of the over 1,100 hotels  and resorts in 100 countries.

Starwood has Over 1,000 Hotels in 100 Countries

One of our most memorable Starwood stays was at the Hotel Imperial in Vienna, the former palace of Prince Philip of Wurrttemberg, and part of the Starwood Luxury Collection hotel.

One of our Favorite Hotel Stays – The Hotel Imperial in Vienna!

Starwood points are good value at mid or low-tier hotels, but are NOT good value for their top tier hotels.  Mid-tier Starwood hotels are still very nice hotels, and better than any other chain’s mid-tier hotels.

Starwood Award Chart

In contrast, Hyatt points are great to use for top tier Hyatt hotels, because you need 22,000 points for any top tier Hyatt hotel compared to 35,000+ points for top-tier Starwood hotels.

30,000 points would get you:

2.  Cash & Points

I have both the personal and business Starwood credit cards, and like using Starwood points for cheap hotel stays using the Cash & Points option.  That said, cash and points stays have blackout dates, so the hotels don’t have to make standard rooms available for cash and points redemptions.

starwood credit card 30,000

Cash & Points Can Save You Starwood Points

The Cash & Points option lets you pay for your hotel with fewer points and a cash co-pay which saves you both points and cash.

For example, using the Cash & Points option, the Sheraton Iguazu Resort & Spa (the only hotel  in the Iguazu National Park) costs 6,000 points and $110 a night instead of 16,000 points if I used only points.

The Sheraton at the Iguazu Falls was just outside the National Park boundary, so we could be first into the park when it opened.

Cash & Points stays also count towards Starwood hotel elite status.

3.   Bonus Points When Transferring To Airlines

Starwood points are useful because you can transfer them to 30 airline partners such as American Airlines, British Airways, and Alaska.  Most of the transfers are in a 1:1 ratio.

You get a 5,000 mile bonus when you transfer 20,000 Starwood points.  So 20,000 Starwood points becomes 25,000 airline miles.  The Starwood card is the best way to replenish your American Airlines miles.

You will get 85,000 air miles if you apply for both the business and personal card, complete the minimum spending and transfer the points to airlines.

This means that you earn 1.25 miles per $1 for regular spending (assuming you’re not taking advantage of category bonuses on other cards) if you spend enough to transfer 20,000 Starwood points to airlines.

4.   Nights & Flights

Nights & Flights is a great redemption for long category 3 and 4 hotel stays.

The Great Value of Nights & Flights!

5 free hotel nights AND 50,000 airline miles cost:

You can get 70,000 Starwood points (60,000 from the sign-up bonus and 10,000 points from the minimum spending) if you apply for one 30,000 points Starwood personal card and one 30,000 points Starwood business cards.

Two cards can get you 5 free hotel nights and 50,000 of the 60,000 miles needed for a coach ticket to Europe!  60,000 air miles is also enough for at least 2 coach tickets within the US.

5.   Flight Awards & Gift Cards

You can redeem Starwood points for flights on many airlines with no blackout dates.  The catch is that you’re not getting the most value of your points, but some folks prefer the flexibility of taking any flight and also earning miles for those flights.

30,000 points gets you $345 to $410 in airfare with NO blackout dates.

Similarly, you can also redeem Starwood points for gift cards, so 28,000 points will get you $300 in Amazon (or other) gift cards.  Again, not the best value, but could be interesting for the folks who aren’t interested in fancy hotels.

30,000 Starwood Points = $300 in Gift Cards

Bottom Line

The 30,000 point American Express Starwood Preferred Guest personal and business card offer is the highest bonus for this card and it has only come around a handful of times.

I like having points – especially points which you can transfer to other airlines –  in different programs so that I have more flexibility when I’m redeeming my miles and points.

If you were planning on getting this card, the additional 5,000 bonus points is a nice incentive, but it isn’t a very big difference from the regular offer.

  1. Are they doing the referral link this year for 5,000 points like they did last year?

  2. only a minor quibble.
14,000 points gets you $150 in Amazon giftcards. So
Only minor since it’s still not the best use of points.

  3. Just got this card for 25,000 points less than 1 month ago. Any chance they will match the bonus?

  4. @ih – Unfortunately, they have discontinued that.

    @steve – Thanks. I updated the post.

@Frank - Unlikely, but doesn’t hurt to ask.

  5. thestinger777

Hi, I am new to this whole mile credit card game…and I’ve always shy’d away from AMEX. This particular card you are posting about, is this a credit card or a charge card? I assume you have to pay it off every month? AMEX is slightly different than most Visa and MC’s right when it comes to how it works…? Oh and what would you recommend your min credit score/income be to apply for this card? Thanks for this post!

  6. warnerbrothers

Is there a reconsideration line for this card. I believed i was denied. But last week i was approved for 80,000 ihg credit card from chase. Is Amex a lot stricter than Chase. What do you recommend me doing

  7. Both my wife and I applied for the card last week under the 25k promotion. Both called today to get the offer upped to 30k and both were denied. People over at Amex don’t seem as willing to match new promotions as the folks over at Chase.

  8. Last time Starwood did this promotion I earned 30,000 points and I sold the points to rewards2cash for $435.00

The company has positive reviews on yelp, facebook, fatwallet and slickdeals.

  9. goals^n^dreams

Love your blog ^_^. Can I apply SPG personal and business at the same time by 2 browser trick?

  10. I currently have the SPG biz card, and I was trying to apply for the personal version. However, on the website I was told

“You have been identified as a current American Express Cardmember. The
welcome offer above may not be the same as the offer you saw advertised
previously because the other offer you saw is not available to current
American Express Cardmembers. You will not be eligible for the above
offer if you have had this product within the last 12 months.”

and the offer becomes 10,000 welcome bonus after first purchase.

In fact, I have never had the SPG personal. Do you think I qualify for the 30k bonus for SPG personal? Thanks.

  11. What do u think of personal and biz in same app?

  12. Is it one or two pulls?

  13. Just applied for 30k offer…

got 7-10 day wait notice, no instant approval

was instantly approved for 100k offer for amex business gold last night though…

darious, am i allowed to apply for 2 amex cards within 24 hours of each other?

  14. I last had an SPG personal credit card that I applied for and got in 2011, but then cancelled in May 2012. Would I be eligible for this bonus if I apply now? It has been well over 18 months since I applied for the card and over 15 months since I closed the account.

    THANKS!!!

  15. @matt

Last year I applied for the 25K offer just a week before the 30K offer hit. I emailed customer service and they gave me 3K points no questions asked. I would try calling again. Perhaps threaten to cancel. What’s the worse that can happen?

  16. @thestinger777 – The Starwood cards are credit cards which means you have to pay them off in full each month. You shouldn’t apply for them if you can’t pay the balance in full each month because they have higher rates of interest.

@warnerbrothers - I’ve found AMEX to be easier to get approved from than Chase.

goals^n^dreams @Webazoid @macky – You can apply for both at the same time or even after a few days. You may need to call if you apply for both at the same time because they sometimes assume it is a mistake and don’t process the 2nd application. It usually is one credit pull, but it depends on when you’re approved etc.

@Robert Lee – You should be able to apply again since it has been 12 months since you last had the card.

  17. Approved!! Also have the gold rewards and Delta skymiles AMEX. Applied for the Biz card only.

  18. Can I apply for these cards and pay them off with some other guy’s Home Improvement Card left overs? Plenty of those out there LOL !!!

  19. thestinger777

thanks for the reply, i can pay it off each month — i have just heard horror stories about amex “charge” cards? i didnt understand what the difference was.

switching from my capital one rewards card to this one… do you find this one more beneficial/flexible for airline travel? trying to accumulate enough points so we can take a honeymoon one day! any suggestions for a companion card that i can use these points with?

  20. thestinger777

oh and approved via your link …. you are welcome! haha how much do you get for the referrals?

  21. @Daraius, @Adam – I received the same, “You have been identified as a current American Express Cardmember. The welcome offer above may not be the same as the offer you saw advertised previously because the other offer you saw is not available to current American Express Cardmembers. You will not be eligible for the above offer if you have had this product within the last 12 months.”

I was using a private browser when I saw the 30K offer on the Amex site. I clicked apply and the 30K app came up. I then chose , “Are you a Cardmember? Go to Shorter Application,” which required me to sign in. And that’s when the 10K app came up with the above message. Soooo, I’m not too keen on filling out the longer 30K app to find out they’re only giving me 10K because I already have their Gold Premier Awards card.

However, the shorter 30K app did load without issue for the Starwood Business version and I was approved. Sorry I can’t get you every referral Daraius as much as I’d like to, but the rest of you can, So click on his link for the 30K Starwood Business version now that we know existing Amex personal card holders can still get that offer.

  22. Just applied for the personal card online and was instantly approved!!!

  23. Just a quick thanks for all the great advice. Just applied via your link and was instantly approved. These points will be the final piece to puzzling together our 10 year anniversary trip completely on points. Roundtrip first class to Hawaii, 3 days at the Moana Surfrider in Oahu, then 6 days at the St. Regis in Kauai. All on points! (over $11,000 in travel) Thanks for your tips/tricks that helped make it happen.

  24. Being your reader for a long time. Thanks, Daraius! I am really excited about this spg offer, but I have a question. How can I do manufacturing spending on the spg business card? I heard that we should not use buz card anywhere like a personal card. Could you take some time to teach us where to and where not to use the business card? Really appreciated!

  25. @SeanP @Mazhar – Congrats!

    @Jason – Who’s being a wise guy?!

@thestinger777 – Thanks for using our link! What’s your honeymoon goal? The SPG card will get you a few nights hotel stay and even miles if you use the nights and flights option. Depending on your destination goal, you could pair it with the United 50K offers, the 50K American Airlines offers, or the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

@matthewD – Thanks for thinking of me, but do what makes sense for you! That said, I do know readers who’ve got the bonus for the SPG card (when it was 25K) despite having a personal charge/credit card.

@Matt – Congrats and have a wonderful anniversary. Thanks for using our link!

@Xiaoyi – Don’t ramp up spending on the card, don’t use it excessively at Amazon payments, and I’d be careful of using it too much at CVS as well.

  26. MatthewD thanks for the info. Darius thanks as always for all you do! Just used your links to get 2 approvals–1 business 1 personal! I was excited about the “12 months since you’ve had this product” language–wasn’t sure we’d be able to churn this for me. My husband keeps his all the time as we have to spend at Costco for our business. Piecing together europe for a family of 4 for this coming march, and skiing at Beaver Creek this winter! Almost finished! Then we will have to decide what to start collecting for next!

  27. How did you arrive at the 85,000 miles for getting the personal and business?

  28. Daraius, About the SPG Biz card you said “don’t use it excessively at Amazon payments, and I’d be careful of using it too much at CVS as well.” Does that apply for SPG personal also (like $1K / month on Amazon payments and CVS each)?
    Thanks

  29. Can I get this card and get bonus if I already have other Amex cards?

  30. Daraius,
For 2013, my wife has applied and been approved for the Chase Marriott Visa on 3/22/13 and the Chase Preferred MasterCard on 6/21/13. She only has Chase credit cards. I would like for her to get the SPG card, but it is less than 90 days since her last application. Any thoughts on going for this deal now and getting approved? Thank you for your help.
    Charles

  31. @Adam, leslie, MatthewD – I would be interested to see what happens if you go all the way through the app without signing in as a current customer. The application certainly isn’t that long. I got stuck with the 10,000 point offer, because I was signed in to my AmEx account. When I queried it, they said they would refer the case to their marketing dept. I got the impression that if you get through the 25,000 (or now, 30,000) app process, you would get that bonus, but if it identifies you earlier as a previous customer then you get the 10,000 bonus.
It has turned out ok for me, since I am a bit behind on meeting minimum spend, it will be ok if it turns out to be just 10,000 after first purchase.
(@ Daraius – still loving the blog!)

  32. I heard the Amex Gold Biz can easily trigger financial review. How about the SPG biz? Has anyone had the experience of getting financial reviewed because of manufactured spending, such as CVS and Amazon Payment? Thanks.

  33. What is this 100k business gold offer that Macky is talking about?

  34. @Jamie – It sounds like we should use Daraius’ SPG card link as opposed to the link on the Amex site or that we might get the full bonus if we aren’t signed in at the Amex site when we fill out their regular app. In other words… don’t fill out an app with the 10K header and expect 30K. It sounds like an app with the 30K header may still get you 30K points even if you’re already an Amex card holder. Existing card holders should pay close attention.

The Amex site’s spg BIZ app did not identify me as an existing card holder even though I was signed in. The biz app had a 30K header. However, the Amex site’s spg PERSONAL app did identify me as an existing card holder while signed in and had a 10K header. I did not apply for the personal but I did apply for the biz and was approved.

In fact it was the first time I’ve ever been instantly approved though I have 13 miles/points cards since I started in Jan ’13 and have never once been denied (just never instantly approved). I immediately then applied for the 50K Hilton card through Daraius’ link but the decision is pending. Was that because I wasn’t signed in to Amex and using their app link, or was it because it was a personal card vs the biz card I was instantly approved for, or was it because they thought it might be a duplicate or was it because…??? hmmm

  35. P.S. I did not already have a business card from Amex.

  36. @Kevin & @macky – Yeah, what 100k offer and where’s the @Daraius reply to macky?

  37. Daraius, how do you interpret the following phrase from the terms of the offer:
“If you are identified as a current American Express® Cardmember, you may not be eligible for this welcome bonus offer.”

  38. @Holly S - Thanks for using our link!

@art – You’ll get 30K from each card so that’s 60K SPG points which converts to 75K air miles. You will also spend $5K on each card, so that’s another 10K SPG points which converts to another 10 air miles for a total of 85K.

@leslie @jamie – I believe you can as long as you see the application for 30K points.

@Charles – If you apply for only a few cards, it doesn’t matter if you don’t wait 90 days.

@Kevin @matthewD – Sounds like a targeted offer for him!

@matthewD - I’d call in to make sure that they haven’t put your app on hold because they thought it was a duplicate.

@Richard – I don’t like how vaguely it is worded.

  39. Amex doesn’t let you get approved for 2 cards on the same day anymore. If you do they’ll tell you to call back in 5 days. So it’s best to just wait 5 days between apps so the system doesn’t get confused and think you submitted duplicate apps.

  40. Canceled my last AMEX SPG card over a year ago. Until last month I was authorized user of my wife’s AMEX SPG card. Called AMEX and they said to try again!!!

Provided credit approval, am I eligible to get this card again?

    Thanks!

  41. Forgot to add that I also hold the Costco & the HH Surpass AMEX cards.

  42. Hi MMS, if I apply for the card and cancel it within a year, and then next year or later, if I re-apply for it, would I still be eligible for the bonus?

Also, another quick question. I got a targeted offer for United card, but they said previous card holders are not eligible for the bonus miles, is this the case for all Chase cards (that they give the bonus only once)? Thanks.

  43. @Ken – That’s true of late.

@Kalboz - Being an authorized user shouldn’t prevent you from getting the bonus again. That said, it is unclear what AMEX means by the vague language which suggests that they *could* deny folks from getting the bonus if they have another American Express card. I haven’t heard of any such reports so far, but it is a new addition to the terms and conditions.

@new – With Chase, you can’t get the bonus for the same card type again. With AMEX, the terms suggest that you should get the bonus again if it has been 12 months since you last cancelled.

  44. Hi, thanks for the info!

I’m confused about the airlines ratio. Do 30k starpoints really convert into 30k actual airline miles? 12k miles is enough for a round-trip from the U.S. to Beijing! I know most credit card mile rewards are merely points that don’t equal airline miles. Thanks again

  45. @GK – 30K Starpoints would convert to 35K air miles in most programs. But you’d need ~65K miles for a return trip to China using AA or US Air miles.

  46. I was a ‘lil concerned about reports here and on FT of folks getting this message. “You have been identified as a current American Express Cardmember. The welcome offer above may not be the same as the offer you saw advertised previously because the other offer you saw is not available to current American Express Cardmembers..”

So I opened a different browser from what I normally use, then applied using the MMS personal card link and filled out the “long” form. I got an instant approval and conformation via the screen message that I am getting 10K bonus points for 1st purchase and 20K points after spending $5K within the 1st 6 months.

As data points I currently have a HH AMEX open since 2002 and previously had a SPG AMEX personal card that I closed in a little over a year ago.

  47. Darius, Sorry too lazy to read through all the comments now. have you heard positive experiences on approvals for the 30k bonus for existing card members?
    Thanks!

  48. @steven – If you haven’t cancelled the card for at least 12 months you won’t get the sign-up bonus again. But business and personal cards are considered different cards.

  50. Darius, I used your link for SPG personal Amex. I was declined for having too many recent inquiries. I was hoping to move around credit limits from my other two Amex personal cards, and called both the new account and reconsideration numbers. In both cases, the agents didn’t have the authority to reconsider. They could only submit another request for reconsideration and there would be another hard pull. Is there any way to be reconsidered without the new inquiry?

  51. @Talat - Thanks for using our link. I don’t believe there is another way.

  52. Pingback: Starwood Points | Million Mile Secrets

  53. I canceled the card in May of last year and applied the SPG personal card last week using your link and was approved instantly. I received a screen message after I was approved that I am getting 10K bonus points for first purchase and 20K points after spending $5K within the first 6 months. But when I called to activate my card yesterday and verified the sign-on bonus. The CSR told me that I am not eligible for the bonus as I am an existing card member. The only other American Express card that I have is the SPG Business card. Any idea what I can do so I can get the bonus?

  54. So, do I get the bonus 30000 SPG pts if I am a current amex blue cash preferred card holder? I applied the BCP when it gives $250 however I only receive $150 since I owned an amex delta option card

  55. My wife is only an authorized user of my SPG card, can she sign up for one and get the 30k bonus?

  56. Hi. I got the SPG personal card with the 25K offer in June 2013 and have already fulfilled the minimum spend for the bonus points. Can I still apply for the biz 30K offer? Thanks

  57. Hi. So I just applied for the Amex SPG Business Card and was declined. When I called Amex they said it had to do with my Experian report etc. I just checked my Experian credit score and it is nearly 740, which is not bad from what I know. I have never had a late payment and pay off my balance in full each month on all my cards. I have had 4 credit enquiries (incl. todays) since June and 6 open/current credit cards. The representative on the phone offered to put my application back into “review” status and said that the review team might do another hard or soft enquiry but he couldn’t guarantee anything.
This was my first business card application ever and the 6 current cards I have are all personal. Is it advisable to put my application back into review status and risk another enquiry on my credit report? Any other suggestions? Thanks a lot

  58. @Joan – You can call again to confirm.

@Steven – If you see the offer for 30K points when you apply, you should get that offer.

@Aidan – She should be able to get the card because being an authorized user doesn’t prevent you from getting the bonus.

@Kaziopeia – You have a good score ( a score above 700 is good), but I can’t tell you what to do. As always, do what you’re comfortable with.

  59. Thanks. I should have asked another way. Have you had any experience with putting a declined application back into review status? And what was the outcome? Thank you

  60. I used your SPG link, got instant approval, thank for all your hard works, your step by step fill out business application is so helpful!

  62. I am going to use Starwood points because I can transfer them to American Airlines, get a 5,000 mile bonus per each 20,000 Starwood points transferred and have my fabulous trip to Prague!

  63. I’m thinking about applying for the SPG business card. I currently have a Delta AMEX, AMEX Gold, SPG AMEX personal, and a business AMEX Gold. Since I already have 4 AMEX cards, 3 personal, and one business, should I bother to apply? I thought I may have too many AMEX cards.

  64. @Kaziopeia – No recent personal experience, but it could help.

@CAgirl - Thanks for reading and for using our link to apply!

@Shannon – You are allowed 4 AMEX credit cards, but the AMEX Business Gold is a charge card, so you should be able to get another AMEX business card.

  65. I would use Starwood points to stay at the Miami Airport Sheraton when I have an overnight stay in route to the Caribbean. They are good about upgrading SPG members to better rooms if available.

  67. App for Wifey instantly approved using link from your site. Used Firefox, with full app. Wife currently has active Biz SPG card, personal card “product-changed” 14+ months ago into Blue. Thanks, MMS!

  68. @Couponologist – Congrats and thanks for using our link!

  69. hi
i got points from last year and now is time for annual fee
i have bis amd personal spg cards.
will i still be able to use my points if i cancel one or both of them?
do i need am ex spg card at all to use my points?
what is exiration date on points?
    thank you

  70. Question: the original 10000 point bonus and regular spend points have posted, I think, immediately. I just completed my $5000 spend and no 20000 points yet. Does it take longer for this one to post? Thanks!

  71. I recently cancelled a Delta AMEX (2 months ago.) Am I eligible for the sign up bonus for the SPG or Hilton AMEX, or do I have to wait for 12 months? Thanks.

  72. @shannon – They are separate cards, so you should be eligible.

  73. I have a starwood question…. I just applied and was approved…. I got an email that said I have received credit for 5 nights and 2 stays toward SPG status….what does this mean? the link provided is not really clear….do I now have 5 free nights? or credit towards it? thanks

  74. I have the same question as Joshua Ziefle.

  75. @JM – Those are credits towards Starwood elite status. For example, you need 10 stays to get Gold status and having the credit card gets you 2 stay credit towards that.

@Joshua Ziefle – I’d call AMEX to make sure that the 25K promotion was active on your account and ask when the points will post.

  76. I opened both personal and business SPG cards for this deal and got 2 different SPG numbers. Is this normal? Wasn’t a Starwood member before the CC signup. Do I call to have them combined the numbers/points?
