Priority Club Visa Free Night
The Chase Priority Club Visa is one of my favorite credit cards to keep for a long time.
That’s because the $49 annual fee gets you 1 free night, every year after the 1st year, which can be redeemed at ANY Priority Club hotel – including the more expensive InterContinental hotels. You also get a 60,000 to 80,000 sign-up bonus and no foreign transaction fees for purchases not in US dollars, though there are better cards with no foreign transaction fees.
Emily and I redeemed our free nights at the InterContinental Thalasso in Bora Bora last year!
You have to book AND complete your stay within 1 year of earning the free night certificate.
But you can use the free night at any Priority Club hotel. Priority Club has lots of hotels in the US, so you can often find a Priority Club hotel in a city which regularly has high prices (like New York City), or because of a special event like a conference or concert etc.
Booking Free Night Online
You had to call in to book the free night, but via this FlyerTalk thread, you can now book the free night online!
Step 1 – Sign in
Sign in to your Priority Club account via this link.
Step 2 – Click “Free Night Status”
Click on “Free Night Status” on the left side of the screen.

Click on the “Book Free Night” button to book your free night.
Step 4 – Select your hotel
Click on the hotel which you want to book. I chose a random date in New York City for this post.
I’m not sure why the button says “check rates” when it says “FREE” above the button!
Step 5 – Book Room
Click on “Book This Room” to book your free night!
I saw the reservation in my profile and Could have cancelled it online as well!
Can I Use The Free Night For Someone Else?
Readers often ask if you can use the free night for someone else. In my experience, you can usually book a room for yourself with points (or free night certificates) and add a note in the reservation that someone else will check in first.
However, this may not always work, and as always, do what you’re comfortable with. But it usually does work within the US.
It could also help to call the hotel on the day of arrival and explain that someone else will be checking in first.
The Priority Club card was already a great card because of the free night each year. But it just got better because you can now book the free night online without calling in!
