Frequent Traveler University is just 1 weekend away!

Do it For The Points has put together a guide on how to get from Washington Reagan or Dulles airport to the Hilton in Tyson’s Corner.  But the most convenient way to get there is either to rent a car or take a taxi.

Million Mile Secrets reader, Titan Limousine is also a sponsor of Frequent Traveler University and has some great offers for private car service from the airports to the hotel.  I usually don’t like paying extra for car service, but these flat rates are virtually similar to what a taxi would cost.

  • Washington Dulles or Reagan transfers are $45 one-way or $80 round-trip
  • Baltimore transfers are $100 one way or $180 round trip

This price is all inclusive with gratuity, fuel surcharge and service fees. This is a flat rate per car (with no extra charges for additional passengers) so you can book a car and share it with other folks to save money!

I’ve never used Titan Limousine, so I don’t have personal experience to share.  But they are attending & sponsoring Frequent Traveler University, so they have to be good!

  1. I’m sure organizers of these events have many reasons for picking the places they do, but I’d like to see them scheduled at a place that has airport shuttle service or reasonable public transit access. These “taxi, rental car or limo” service locations may be ideal in other respects, but do add to the cost for participants. I suppose other places have been considered but found wanting due to rental fees and higher room costs, so maybe there’s nothing much that can be done. Just an idea.

  2. And how is this a good deal when I can rent a car for three days at ~$50?

  3. Thanks for the post Darius. I just wanted to mention anyone interested in booking with Titan Limousine should call us instead of booking online. We do not have a discount code set up for FTU online. Our phone number is 1-877-728-4826.

  4. This sounds nice, but parking at the hotel is free and I got a 2-day car rental at IAD for $37 (total, including all taxes and fees). And, to those cheapskates out there, no you can’t have a ride to the airport!

  5. You definitely can’t compare a $$$ value to the service. It is totally 2 different services.
Limo vs Rental. You don’t drive, you don’t pay for fuel, you have zero liability should something happen, you have no line and shuttle transport to your car, no vehicle check, no having to stop on way back to fuel up. You do get is a courteous chauffuer, immediate pick up, relax in the back seat and enjoy the ride!! You feel good about stepping in and out of a chauffuer driven car.

Limo vs Cab. Cleaner & Safer. More quiet, if you need that. Just a better bet. Especially at the discounted rate it will run the same.

It’s a great deal!! Not for everyone. But for most.

  6. The entire House of Miles support staff will be using Titan Limo when we arrive in Washington for both the Freddie Awards and FTU.

[as for the tip on picking places for FTU … the last one was at LAX, the one before at EWR and the next is at TPA — all were/are at hotels with free airport shuttles. This one is held in conjunction with the Freddie Awards being hosted at USA Today Corporate Headquarters and the hotel is next door. More of an exception this time.]
