1. 100 Free American Airlines Miles. Via View from The Wing, you can get 100 American Airlines miles for signing up for their shopping portal between January 21 and February 3, 2013 and receiving emails until the 100 miles posts to your American Airlines account. 100 miles isn’t much, but it will reset your American Airlines account expiration by 18 months!
You also get 300 additional miles for ANY purchase, so a $1 iTune purchase (if available & eligible) could be worth the 300 American Airlines miles.
2. Transfer Citi Thank You Points to Hilton. The Points Guy writes that
you can transfer Citi Thank You points to Hilton hotels. You get 1,500 Hilton points for 1,000 Citi Thank You points. If you value Hilton points at ~0.6 cents per point, this means that you’re getting 0.9 cents value per point.
But this is only if you have a Citi ThankYou Premier, Prestige, or Chairman’s cards.
You can usually redeem Citi ThankYou points for gift cards for 1 cent per point or for travel at 1.33 cents per point if you have the Premier card, so this isn’t something to get excited about. But it could be useful if you redeem for high-end Hilton hotels.
Interestingly, the terms say: “ThankYou Points obtained through activity unrelated to purchases made with your Citibank Debit MasterCard or with your Citi credit card, as well as ThankYou Points received for a Citibank checking relationship and bonus ThankYou Points that may be awarded for opening new Sponsor accounts or for signing up for new Sponsor services.”
It isn’t clear if the sign-up bonus from the Citi ThankYou Premier can be transferred to Hilton points, but I was able to get to the last screen (before confirming a transfer) using the points in my Citi ThankYou account (mostly from sign-up bonuses).
