[Disclosure:  This post shows you how to get an extra $75 and save $1,000 in minimum spending by NOT using my referral links for the Chase Marriott credit cards.]

My affiliate link, which earns me a commission, is for a 50,000 point Marriott Premier credit card after spending $1,000 within 3 months.

However, there is a much better offer for 50,000 Marriott points AND a $75 statement credit after your 1st purchase.  So you get $75 for free and don’t have to meet the $1,000 minimum spending requirement!

I’ve listed the better offer on the Hotel Credit Cards tab for months, so that you find only the best credit card offers on Million Mile Secrets.

There used to be a 70,000 point offer for the Marriott credit card, but I can’t find a working link anymore.  But there must be a 70,000 point offer out there, because Sheldon from World Wander Lusting got Chase to match the offer after sending a secure message.  However, in the comments to that post, some folks for not able to get matched, so your miles may vary.

At the very least, don’t use my referral link and get the better offer with the $75 statement credit and no minimum spending requirement for the Marriott Premier credit card.

Similarly, if you plan on applying for the regular Marriott personal card, there is a better offer for 30,000 points after your 1st purchase AND a $75 statement credit.  My referral link requires $1,000 minimum spending within 3 months and doesn’t offer the $75 statement credit so don’t use it!  As always, I’ve listed the better offer on the Hotel Credit Cards tab as well.

There is also a better offer for the regular Marriott business card for 30,000 points after your 1st purchase compared to my referral link which requires $1,000 in minimum spending within 3 months.

  1. I was about to sign up for Mariott Chase card. I don’t have Marriott points so as I was about to sign up for their rewards program, they gave me a choice of it I want Marriott points or if I want to convert point to miles for airlines. I fly A LOT so converting to miles would be better , but I wanted to know if the conversions would be equal or if it is 2 Marriot points per mile. How can I find out? Or is it better to keep Marriot points for hotels? Thanks

  2. @Naomi
Here’s a link for the Marriott Travel Rewards program:
I hope this will help. IMHO, transferring Marriott points to airline miles is not a good deal. Again, it depends on how you see it.

  3. It’s better to have the hotel points. If you decide later you want miles, you can always do a manual transfer then, as needed. That leaves you not only the flexibility for hotel stays, but also the flexibility to choose a different airline.

By the way, if you do transfer MR to airline miles, you;re far better off using the MR “travel package” awards. For example, a direct transfer of 250K MR points to UA yields 100K UA miles, see the link Loven posted. But request a package, and that same 250K MR gets you 100K UA miles PLUS a 7 night hotel stay, up to cat 5.
    Package details are here:

    • @Naomi – You can get more airline miles with airline credit cards than with signing up for the Marriott credit card. I agree with Loven & swag that you’re better off keeping Marriott points to use for hotel stays and choosing another credit card for air miles.

  4. I had just applied for Marriot Rewards regular card but without the $75 credit a few days ago.

Have anyone here tried to request for a better deal (like this offer) when you call to activate the card ?

  5. Even though I didn’t find any locations that Marriott has that I would prefer to other hotel chains, this is still a great deal. And, there is a Canadian equivalent my girlfriend can get. Seems pretty nice =]

It’s just a shame that all the good cards are Chase. I really don’t want to max out on them before I get my CSP

  6. Can you get more than one of these cards at a time?

    • @Pamela Miu – You could send a secure message, but your miles may vary that they will match.

@Corey – Too bad all the good cards are from Chase.

      – You should be able to get the personal and business card.

  7. Is there a link to the 70,000 Business card?

  8. I got an offer (targeted?) in an email the other day for the 50k points + 1 free night (at a category 1-4), but still with the $1k spend in 3 months. Another reservation confirmation email offered the same but without the minimum spend. Seems like they’re floating a few different offers around, but I guess it depends if you get more value out of a cat. 1-4 stay or a $75 credit.

  9. Thanks, I should read a little closer! It was late. 🙂 That might be worth looking at. So many Chase cards, so few app parties. 🙂

  10. Are you able to get 2 personal cards and 1 business card at same time to maximize points? Thanks

  11. I have the Marriott Rewards card. Can I apply for the Marriott Rewards Premier, or is that considered the same card?

  12. I just tried to get the card offer with the $75 statement credit. After filling out the application, I was informed that the offer is no longer available.

  13. I have applied for the personal Marriott card and was wondering if there is a better offer than the current 30k miles, and 2 free nights offer I have seen on the business card? Thanks!

  14. Looks like the $75 statement credit Marriott offer is dead.
Is there another link that gets 50,000 points after first purchase?

  15. 70k offer is still alive.

  16. @rahul which link did you use for the 70K?

  17. Is there any working links for 70k or the 50k with $75 credit?
