- 1,200 Southwest points for a $100 Marriott Gift Card purchase
- 3,000 Southwest points for a $250 Marriott Gift Card purchase
- 6,000 Southwest points for a $500 Marriott Gift Card purchase
Each Southwest point is worth 1.67 cents towards wanna get away fares, so you’re effectively getting $20, $50, or $100 in Southwest points for every $100, $250 or $500 Marriott gift card you buy.
Readers were asking if these Southwest airline points counted towards the Southwest Companion Pass and how long it took to receive the gift card and for the points to post.
I ordered a gift card on August 28, 2012. I received the gift card in about a week, and the points posted to my Southwest account on September 15, 2012.
Unfortunately they did not count towards the Southwest Companion Pass.
But this is still a good way to reduce the cost of your Marriott hotel stays!
