Via Just Another Points Traveler, you can get 1,000 free Virgin America  Elevate points by giving all your Facebook information & a picture to Virgin America.

I don’t need Virgin America points, but I still signed-up for the Facebook promotion.  You can transfer 1,000 Virgin American points to 439 United or American Airlines miles or 790 US Air miles via Points.com, but you need a minimum of 2,000 Virgin America points to make the transfer.

The lowest 1-way awards for short distance flights (think San Fransisco to Los Angeles) are 2,500 Virgin Elevate points.

  1. how did u get this to work, i see nothing on the facebook page about this, is it over

  2. Thanks, Daraius! It worked for me. Took about 2 minutes total. This is a pretty smart campaign for Virgin America. Glad to see they’re getting more involved with social media, since few other airlines do much of anything at all with their social media marketing. It seems like new things are cooking up over at Virgin Atlantic & Virgin America with some of their latest announcements. Not sure if you posted about this, but now you can use Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles to book award flights on Virgin Atlantic. Not a huge deal, but it does increase my valuation of Virgin Atlantic miles. Thanks again!

  3. I just signed up in hopes that I keep my Elevate pts since they’re about to expire 6/30/12 and I haven’t flown with Virgin in awhile

  4. Can we transfer Virgin’s point to Hilton?
1000 points to 2000 hilton points?

  5. I did not know about the transfer options to other airlines. Thanks Daraius!

  6. Are you sure about this statement: “You can transfer 1,000 Virgin American points to 439 United or American Airlines miles”? I just called Virgin America and they said you cannot transfer points to American Airlines. Can you please clarify this? Thanks,
