1,000 ($17 Value) Free Southwest Airline Points For Chase Southwest Credit Card Holders – Possibly Targeted [Expired]

You can get 1,000 free Southwest Airline points, if you are a Chase Southwest credit card holder, by watching a 3 minute video!

1000 Free Southwest Points

1000 Free Southwest Airlines Points!

You have to enter in your Southwest Airlines Rapid Reward’s number and the last 4 digits of your Chase Southwest Airline credit card number, so it does seem like you have to be a Chase Southwest Airline credit card holder.

The terms say that this offer is not transferable, but I was able to register for it.

The video is very irritating because you have to click on the “click here to proceed” box to advance the video.

But it was worth it for the 1,000 Southwest points!

The terms and conditions indicate that it will take 6 to 8 weeks after the promotion ends to get the points.

Tips:

You may need to:

  • Disable your popup blocker to watch the video
  • Enter in the leading zeros in your Rapid Rewards number

And don’t forget that the last date to submit an entry to win a $100 gas gift card is  Saturday, September 24, 2011!

  1. After watching the informative video and entering my information, I got this disappointing popup:
The information you entered is not recognized. Please reference your printed offer. Also remember that if you have multiple accounts, this promotion pertains only to the account number indicated by your offer.

  2. When does the promotion end? My credit card is on its way in the mail. I applied to get the 50,000 points for signing up and making one purchase using my card. My husband watched the video and entered his info and it said he will get the 1,000 bonus points. I hope I get my card in time. They said it could take up to 2 weeks to get here. Thanks again for all you do to help us earn miles!

  3. You will also need your rapid rewards number along with the credit cards last four digits.

  4. @Miles - Interesting. I wonder if it is set up to work only for folks who are targeted.

@Tammy Horvath – I don’t know when it is ending, but it should be around for a few more days.

  5. Hi Daraius, great blog! One question re another airline — do you know if, after the United-Contintental merger is consummated, the Chase Continental credit cards will still be offered? … is it now or never to sign up for one of those?

  6. Thanks for the tip on this. I was able to get it to work. We’ll see if the miles post!

  7. Thanks…Just did it.

  8. Success (video didn’t work on my browser, but was able to enter my #’s after 3 minutes and got a congrats message) Thanks for posting.

  9. Thanks! That was easy!

  10. Thanks, I did it with no problem…and I learned how to use my miles for international travel, this is fabulous,i have no idea if i was targeted or not, but i have the sw bus card.

  11. Worked for my wife’s account, but didn’t work for mine.

    Thanks for the tip!

  12. FYI it didn’t work for me, either. I’ve had my Chase Southwest Visa for a pretty good while now, though. Maybe it’s only for “new-ish” folks?

  13. @Rob - The cards will be discontinued at some point and only the United card will be offered.

  14. Yep – this is targeted. But I got it to work with my SWA Premier Business VISA and my wife’s SWA RR Signature VISA. But no joy with my personal SWA RR Signature VISA or my wife’s SWA Premier RR VISA. So 2 out of 4 not bad.

  15. Got it! Thanks!

  17. It worked for me…. I just opened my chase card in February.

  18. I got rejected twice, before I realized that the problem was that I hadn’t entered the eight (8) zeroes at the start of my RR number; I had only entered the last 6 digits that I always use on SW’s website.
After that, smooth as silk and I had my 1000 bonus points.

Gotta add, they can “sell” it all they want, but RR now sucks for me. I used to get a couple of RT awards every year, but affiliation with AMEX MR was dropped and now this “based on amount spent” plan kills me. My 6+ “cheapest fare possible” runs to Las Vegas used to get me close to a free RT. Now they get me next to nothing.

  19. FYI – There’s also a 500 point bonus for subscribing to Rapid Rewards E-mails: http://www.southwest.com/html/rapidrewards/promotions/email-points-offer.html

I got the same error message as @Miles, but the newsletter sign up worked just fine!

  20. Too quick with my trigger finger on my previous post! Correction:

I got the same error message as @Miles for the 1,000 point video bonus, but the newsletter sign up worked just fine!

  21. @FPJ – Thanks for the tip!

    @Jonathan @ SeedlingFinance.com – Thanks for the email subscription tip – I didn’t know about it!

  23. Bummer that you actually have to have the Rapid Rewards card! But I was glad to learn that you can book international travel on Rapid Rewards now–certainly makes the program much more valuable in my book.

  24. @Rachel – You get a better value for redeeming on Southwest, but it would save some cash if you needed to book international travel.

  25. Did anyone receive the 1000 bonus points for watching the Way More Reasons To Love Your RR Program Video

  26. This link no longer works. A message from Chase pops up “This promotion has ended.”

  27. @Amy Levin – Thanks for letting me know. I updated the link.
