My Guess – your first clue was Southwest… and you said that Southwest was best for domestic travel. Calm beaches, no mountains = Florida. Busy streets with ultra chic hotel top. How about South Beach!

My guess is also in the Miami, FL/South Beach area. I was in Miami earlier this year, and the view looks like it with nice beaches.

Second: Based on the calm waters, I was thinking someplace on the Gulf Coast of FL, so I’m going to buck the trend and go with St. Petersburg Beach… Since I’ve never seen the waters THAT calm at Miami, and Tampa has a cruise terminal so you could see cruise ships just off short at St. Pete Beach…. I like the Al Sirata there, but I don’t think its affiliated with any chains
